Welcome to School Psychological Services

2020欧洲杯体育网址The School Psychological Services Department consists of twelve full- and part-time school psychologists serving all students pre-kindergarten through grade 12 in all schools in Indian River County. School psychologists provide a wide range of comprehensive services which may include (depending on the school):

  • 2020欧洲杯体育网址Assisting with school-wide implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports framework

  • Assessment of students to guide educational decision-making

  • 2020欧洲杯体育网址Crisis intervention

  • 2020欧洲杯体育网址Individual and group counseling

  • 2020欧洲杯体育网址Participation in school improvement activities

  • Collaboration with community-based providers

School Psychologists

School psychologists are professional-technical employees who work an eight-hour day, 10 months a year (196 days). All school psychologists are district-based but assigned to specific schools in addition to district-wide responsibilities. At each school the school psychologist is provided with office space and necessary technological equipment such as computers and access to printers, scoring software, Internet, and network services.

2020欧洲杯体育网址Professional development opportunities are available in areas such as social skills training, crisis intervention, counseling, assessment, Problem Solving/Response to Intervention, bullying prevention, Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports, and a variety of other Exceptional Student Education topics.

As an integral part of the Student Services/Exceptional Student Education Department, School Psychological Services collaborates with the other departments to promote overall student well-being. School Psychological Services is managed and supervised by a district-level clinical supervisor with training and experience in school psychology.

Interviews will be scheduled after applications and resumes have been received and files are complete.

Educational background must be in the area of school or clinical psychology from an accredited college or university, preferably one that is NASP-approved. Additionally, applicants must be eligible for school psychology certification and/or licensure as a psychologist or school psychologist in the state of Florida.
